Interior Ministry Undersecretary Emanuele Prisco has expressed his “sincerest appreciation to the prefect, the police commissioner, all the women and men of the State Police and law enforcement, and to Minister Piantedosi for the brilliant operation conducted in Viterbo.” The operation led to the arrest of two armed individuals, both Turkish nationals, during one of the community’s most heartfelt and widely attended events, the Macchina di Santa Rosa festival.
In a statement, Prisco said, “An episode that, while disturbing, demonstrates once again the effectiveness of the preventive and investigative action of our police forces and the extraordinary capacity for coordination between institutions and the Interior Ministry.”
“The result achieved in Viterbo,” Prisco noted, “confirms the high level of professionalism and daily dedication of those committed to defending the State and ensuring that traditions and moments of faith and celebration can take place in tranquility and security.”
