Italian Court Awards Compensation to Family After Pet Dog Killed by Unrestrained Wolfdog

The Court of Brescia has ruled that a family is entitled to non-pecuniary damages after their pet dog was attacked and killed by an unleashed Czechoslovakian Wolfdog. The court awarded each member of the family unit compensation of 1,500 euros. The animal welfare organization Lndc Animal Protection stated that the ruling “confirms that pets are, in every respect, an integral part of the family unit.”
