Man Impersonates Cousin to Evade Arrest, Unmasked by Police in Monza

In a failed attempt to avoid arrest, a 34-year-old man presented his cousin’s identification documents to police during a routine stop in Monza on Friday afternoon. Officers became suspicious due to the poor resemblance of the photo on the driver’s license and the man’s visible nervousness. He was taken to the police station for further checks, which revealed his true identity and that he was the subject of an active arrest warrant.

The man, who has a prior criminal record for drug dealing, theft, and violent crimes, was wanted for an armed robbery. An immediate custodial order was in effect for his arrest. He is now in prison and is scheduled to complete his sentence in February 2028.

In addition to the original charges, the man has also been reported for providing false statements to a public official.
