Between September 3rd and 4th, the calibration of new speed enforcement systems will be carried out on three strategic nodes of Rome’s mobility network. The announcement was made by the City’s Councillor for Mobility, Eugenio Patanè.
The first set of fixed speed cameras for point-to-point speed detection will be installed on the Tangenziale Est road, at via del Foro Italico. One camera, direction San Giovanni, will be positioned approximately 350 meters from the viale della Moschea on-ramp. A second camera, direction Stadio Olimpico, will be located at via della Foce dell’Aniene, about 500 meters before the viale della Moschea road axis.
A second pair of cameras will be installed on viale Isacco Newton, in both directions of travel, at the intersection with vicolo di Papa Leone. Furthermore, average speed detection systems will be positioned on the via del Mare road. These will be operational in both directions near viale di Malafede and near the turn-off for Acilia.
“Following these operations,” Patanè concluded, “a roughly 30-day pre-operational phase will commence before the definitive activation of the automatic detection system.”
