A severe weather system swept through multiple areas of Lombardy beginning early this afternoon, causing significant disruptions. The highest concentration of emergency calls for flooding, fallen or unstable trees, and wind damage is currently being reported in the province of Pavia, where firefighter teams have responded to over 100 rescue requests. Additional incidents have been reported from the provinces of Varese and Monza-Brianza.
Firefighters are operating with multiple teams across the affected territory. The Operational Room of the Regional Directorate is active and in close contact with the Regional Civil Protection agency to coordinate resources and optimize reinforcements to the hardest-hit commands.
