During the opening session of its general assembly, Serie B president Paolo Bedin presented a commemorative plaque to Adriano Galliani, the vice president and CEO of Monza, in recognition of his 50-year career in the world of football. Bedin praised Galliani for “an unparalleled career of success and trophies” while bestowing the award, which was inscribed with the motivation: “To the man and the executive who, with passion, balance, competence, and prestigious achievements, has shaped the history of our beloved sport over the years.”
In response, a moved Galliani stated, “These have been 50 beautiful years, thank you. Today I am happy and also a bit emotional. Those who love football can hardly ever leave it; I have started again from where I began so many years ago.”
