A WBC super featherweight world title eliminator between Italy’s Michael ‘Lone Wolf’ Magnesi and Filipino-American boxer Mark Magsayo is scheduled for October 29th in Manila. The Federboxe announced the bout, stating that the winner will be named the official mandatory challenger for current world champion O’Shaquie Foster.
This presents a unique, albeit difficult, opportunity for Magnesi, who is ranked number two by the WBC. The event is organized by Filipino boxing idol and promoter Manny Pacquiao, the former superstar who returned to the ring in July at 46 years old after a four-year hiatus. Magnesi will face a formidable opponent in Magsayo, a former world champion at featherweight. While not considered a technical master, Magsayo is known for his formidable punching power, and it will be up to Magnesi to find the right countermeasures. Regardless, it is a major challenge for the Italian boxer from Cave.
