Rome Authorities Evict Squatters and Arrest Drug Dealer in Tor Bella Monaca Operation

Two municipally-owned properties on Via dell’Archeologia 241 in the Tor Bella Monaca district, which had been illegally occupied, were cleared in an operation conducted by the Rome Capital Local Police with support from the State Police. During the operation, officers from the Urban Social Security Group (GSSU) and the VI Group ‘White Helmets – Towers’ unit, assisted by squad cars from the Casilino district, identified a 20-year-old Albanian national. He was charged with illegal occupation and the illicit diversion of electricity.

In a related action, a 21-year-old Romanian national was not only pursued for similar charges of illegal occupation and electricity theft but was also arrested for the possession and trafficking of narcotics. The suspect was found in possession of 15 packages of cocaine, 3 blocks of hashish totaling approximately 300 grams, around €10,000 in cash, and drug packaging materials.

Following the eviction, the two apartments were secured and returned to the department for Asset Enhancement and Housing Policies for subsequent allocation to eligible recipients.
