The MSC World Europa cruise ship, which had been stalled since this morning off the coast of Ponza due to an engine malfunction, has resumed its journey. Onboard technicians have successfully restored propulsion, and the vessel is now proceeding slowly under its own power toward the port of Naples. The MSC is being escorted by Coast Guard patrol boats, which remain in constant contact with the ship’s captain. Two tugboats dispatched from Naples and Gioia Tauro are also arriving in the area as a precaution.
