Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that relations between China and Russia are “the most stable, mature, and strategically most significant among the great powers in today’s turbulent and ever-changing world.” The remarks were made during a meeting with Vyacheslav Volodin, the Chairman of the Russian State Duma, at the Great Hall of the People. President Xi added that “promoting the high-level development of bilateral relations serves the fundamental interests of the peoples of both countries and is a source of stability for world peace.” As reported by the state broadcaster CCTV, Xi further said the two sides “should carry forward their traditional friendship” and “enhance exchanges.”
