UniCredit has announced it has raised its equity stake in Commerzbank to approximately 26%. In a statement, the bank also confirmed its remaining synthetic position will be converted into physical shares in due course, which will bring its total shareholding to roughly 29%. The Italian banking group clarified that it currently does not intend to seek representation on Commerzbank’s board of administration.
