The Russian Ministry of Defence has announced the mutual return of 146 prisoners of war from each side in a swap with Ukraine. According to a report from the state-owned news agency Ria Novosti, the ministry stated that the United Arab Emirates provided humanitarian mediation for the return of the Russian servicemen from territory controlled by Kyiv. The ministry further noted that eight residents of Russia’s Kursk region, who it said were “illegally detained by the Kyiv regime,” have also been repatriated and will be returned to their homes.
