Firefighters carried out more than 100 operations across Rome and its province overnight as a result of the severe weather. The most frequent call-outs were for uprooted trees, precarious branches, and dangerously loose signage. The areas hardest hit were in the capital’s south-eastern quadrant and the coastline from Fregene to Ostia.
Separately, the Rome municipal police patrols performed over 90 interventions due to the heavy rain and strong winds that struck the capital overnight. The northern quadrant of the city was the most affected area, with fallen branches reported on Via di Boccea, Via Formellese, Via del Mare at the Eur Magliana height, and Via Nomentana near the Grande Raccordo Anulare ring road. On Via del Foro Italico, several patrols were dispatched around 2 a.m. to close the road in the direction of Trionfale after a large tree fell at the intersection with Via dei Campi Sportivi.
