Severe Weather Causes Disruptions Along Romagna Coast

The Rimini area of the Romagna coast was hit by severe weather disturbances on Tuesday evening shortly after 6 p.m., following heavy showers, hail, and powerful wind gusts. Wind gusts of up to 100 kilometers per hour struck Torre Pedrera and the Rimini Nord zone. Meanwhile, over 30 millimeters of rain fell within 20 minutes in Gambettola, the Cesena area, and Savignano sul Rubicone, with Bellaria receiving 25 millimeters.

In Santarcangelo di Romagna, strong winds tore roofing panels off an Amazon depot, an event captured in a video published by the local weather page Meteo-Pedemontana Forlivese.

In the city of Rimini, fallen branches and trees caused disruptions in the Marina Centro district. The same issue prompted the temporary closure of Via Marconi and Via Palotta in Viserba. Local fire departments reported numerous emergency calls, primarily related to fallen vegetation.

Around 6 p.m., the intense wind and hail drove tourists to abandon beaches. Reports came in of localized flooding and of umbrellas, lounge chairs, and sunbeds being blown away.
