A seven-year-old girl has been hospitalized in serious condition after falling from the fifth-floor balcony of her family’s apartment in the Gebbione district of Reggio Calabria.
Emergency services, including Carabinieri officers, were dispatched to the scene. The officers provided an escort for the ambulance transporting the child to the emergency room of the local hospital. She was subsequently admitted to the intensive care unit under a guarded prognosis.
The Carabinieri have notified the on-duty magistrate at the local Prosecutor’s Office and have opened an investigation to determine the precise dynamics of the incident.
Preliminary findings from the ongoing investigation indicate the girl was at home with her parents at the time of the accident. Initial reports suggest she fell after leaning too far over the balcony railing.
