An orange-level weather alert for thunderstorms, indicating a moderate risk, remains in effect until 6 a.m. tomorrow morning, issued by the Natural Risk Monitoring Center of the Lombardy Region. A yellow-level alert for hydrogeological risk also remains active until 2 p.m. tomorrow. Despite the warnings, the City of Milan has announced that municipal parks will be open as usual.
In a statement, the city government, Palazzo Marino, urged the public to exercise particular caution near areas susceptible to river flooding and underpasses during the alert period.
Citizens are further advised to avoid standing under or near trees, construction scaffolding, outdoor dining structures (dehors), and tents. The statement also emphasized the importance of securing balcony items, planters, and any loose objects that could be displaced by strong winds and severe weather. The public is reminded to stay aware of changing weather conditions during outdoor events to prevent dangerous situations.
The Municipal Operations Center (Coc) of the city’s Civil Protection department will be active to monitor the situation and coordinate any necessary interventions across Milan.
