Four individuals were wounded, one of them seriously, during a brawl that erupted on “Le Cannella” beach in the municipality of Isola Capo Rizzuto.
The seriously injured party is a young man who sustained a throat laceration, allegedly caused by a stab wound. After initial treatment at the hospital in Crotone, the victim was transferred via medical helicopter to a facility in Catanzaro.
The other three injured people, aged between 22 and 60, are not in life-threatening condition and remain hospitalized in Crotone.
The Carabinieri police have opened an investigation to determine the precise dynamics and causes of the fight. According to a preliminary reconstruction, the argument initially broke out between two men for reasons still under investigation, and subsequently involved others.
Many beachgoers present at the time of the brawl fled the area in fear.
