A gas cylinder exploded during renovation work at an apartment in Rome on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred on Via Bruno Pelizzi in the Cinecittà district.
Two workers, a 75-year-old father and his 41-year-old son, were injured in the blast. They were treated at the scene for burns and then transported to a hospital under code red conditions. Police, firefighters, and labor inspectorate personnel were all dispatched to the site.
Preliminary investigations suggest a gas cylinder they were using was the cause of the explosion. The building was temporarily evacuated during the emergency operations. The 15 residents were later allowed to return.
