Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a scathing criticism of French President Emmanuel Macron in a formal letter, condemning his decision to recognize a Palestinian state. Netanyahu wrote that the French leader’s appeal for Palestinian statehood “is pouring fuel on the antisemitic fire.” He asserted, “This is not diplomacy, it is appeasement. It rewards Hamas’s terror, reinforces Hamas’s refusal to release our hostages, encourages those who threaten French Jews, and fuels the hatred for Jews that is now rampant on your streets.”
