A parrot’s escape is believed to have sparked the argument that led to the fatal stabbing of 58-year-old police inspector Ciro Luongo on Monday evening. He was killed by the son of his partner. The two men had been involved in a long-running dispute, which culminated in the lethal quarrel yesterday evening. Following the crime, the suspect, 21-year-old Roberto Marchese, fled but was later tracked down. A custody order for the young man was issued after a lengthy interrogation at the Naples police headquarters. The investigation is being coordinated by the deputy prosecutor of North Naples, Cesare Sirignano.
