The psychiatric evaluation for Moussa Sangare, accused of murdering Sharon Verzeni in Terno d’Isola (Bergamo province), has been formally submitted. Verzeni was fatally stabbed overnight between July 29 and 30, 2024.
Court-appointed psychiatrist Giuseppina Paulillo concluded Sangare exhibits no mental impairment, rendering him fully capable of understanding his actions and exercising willpower at the time of the crime. The 30-year-old Suisio (Bergamo) resident was diagnosed with narcissistic and antisocial personality disorder, but the report clarifies this condition does not compromise his lucidity, noting an “absence of remorse and empathy.”
The findings, commissioned by the Court of Assizes on April 1, will be debated during the September 22 hearing attended by all parties. Sangare initially confessed to the murder but later retracted his statement, denying responsibility for Verzeni’s death.
