An unidentified young man has died after being dragged by strong currents in the Po River near Ponte della Becca in Linarolo, Pavia. The victim was bathing at the confluence of the Ticino and Po rivers when the incident occurred around 6 PM. According to reports, the youth jumped into the water accompanied by two friends.
A passing boat spotted him struggling and rescued him, bringing him ashore. Emergency responders—including 118 medical personnel, firefighters, and carabinieri—rushed to the scene. After resuscitation attempts, he was transported via ambulance to Pavia’s San Matteo Polyclinic but succumbed to his injuries upon arrival.
