Fiumicino authorities dismantled unauthorized camps and tent settlements on beaches and coastal dunes in Passoscuro during intensified Ferragosto holiday patrols. The operation, involving Local Police and law enforcement agencies, resulted in 170 traffic fines, 21 illegally parked vehicles towed, and 70 vehicle inspections. Up to 14 daily patrols—including units stationed at Leonardo da Vinci Airport—covered municipal areas from Passoscuro and Fregene to Focene, central Fiumicino, and the airport zone.
A targeted operation at Passoscuro’s coastal dunes saw joint enforcement by Local Police, the Coast Guard, and Carabinieri, with administrative penalties imposed under bathing regulations against illegal beach encampments.
Deputy Mayor Giovanna Onorati stated, “Enhanced controls during the Ferragosto weekend aimed to safeguard public safety, uphold legal compliance, and prevent risks amid peak tourist influx. We thank our Local Police and all officers for their professional and dedicated efforts.”
