Carabinieri officers from the San Donato Milanese station have arrested a 24-year-old Italian man accused of committing four aggravated robberies against women over 65 in Milan’s Certosa-Metanopoli district. The attacks occurred between June 22 and July 16, sparking widespread alarm among local residents.
The suspect, a known criminal with drug addiction issues, allegedly approached victims from behind, violently forced them to the ground, and stole their handbags and personal belongings. Military police stated these assaults generated intense fear within the community, particularly among vulnerable elderly citizens.
Investigators conducted extensive undercover surveillance, analyzed security camera footage, and collected victim and witness testimonies to build evidence. Following the evidence-gathering operation and by order of Milan’s Preliminary Investigations Judge (GIP), the 24-year-old was identified, arrested, and transferred to San Vittore Prison.
