Intensified Railway Checks Lead to Arrests and Drug Busts at Milan Station

Enhanced railway security operations in Milan resulted in two arrests and multiple charges, including the apprehension of a 38-year-old German national found carrying hashish in his luggage. The discovery was made by drug-sniffing dogs from Milan Police Headquarters during stepped-up patrols.

During a morning anti-theft operation at Milan Central Station, plainclothes officers observed a man lingering near a restaurant before stealing a backpack from a distracted patron. Police intercepted the 27-year-old suspect—who identified himself as Algerian—and returned the stolen property. He was arrested and will face expedited judicial proceedings.

Later that evening, officers witnessed a 30-year-old man snatch a handbag from a diner at a station eatery. The alleged Algerian national was apprehended and will similarly undergo expedited trial.

In a subsequent routine check, police discovered packaged cocaine concealed in the wallet of a 45-year-old man as he presented his identity documents. He was charged with drug trafficking. All incidents occurred within Milan Central Station during targeted security initiatives.
