Authorities have confiscated ten severely malnourished pitbull/amstaff puppies discovered caged on a sun-exposed balcony in Calolziocorte, Lecco province. Veterinary examinations revealed the puppies were underweight, dehydrated, and developmentally stunted. Four remain in life-threatening condition. The mother dog, described as skeletal like her offspring, is also in serious though less critical health. Following an on-site inspection by forestry carabinieri and veterinarians from ATS Monza Brianza health authority, all ten dogs were transferred to a veterinary clinic. A formal animal cruelty complaint has been filed with the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating a potential legal case against the family responsible.
