Carabinieri have arrested a Roman family after seizing 10 kilograms of cocaine and drug packaging equipment from their home. A 38-year-old man, his 63-year-old mother, and his 20-year-old girlfriend face charges of drug trafficking and possession.
Officers from the Rome Madonna del Riposo station initiated the operation after catching the man selling cocaine doses near the Battistini metro station to a 35-year-old local. He was found carrying an additional 2 grams of cocaine and €160 in cash.
Following the arrest, police searched the family’s residence, uncovering the large cocaine stash and packaging materials. The man was jailed in Regina Coeli prison, while the two women were taken to Rebibbia prison.
The Rome Tribunal has validated the arrests for all three suspects and ordered the man and his mother held in pre-trial detention.
