Banking group Intesa Sanpaolo has formalized a partnership agreement with the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation, becoming a Premium Partner – the highest sponsorship tier for domestic sponsors – of the XXV Winter Olympic Games and XIV Winter Paralympic Games.
This move marks a continuation of the group’s support for elite international sporting events in Italy, following its sponsorship of the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics exactly two decades ago.
Leading up to the Olympic Games (February 6-22, 2026) and Paralympic Games (March 6-15, 2026), and throughout the year, the Carlo Messina-led bank will activate its sponsorship across multiple channels. Initiatives include partnering on the Olympic and Paralympic Torch Relay with ambassador, client, and staff involvement; contributing to the Cultural Olympiad program via dedicated exhibitions at its Gallerie d’Italia museums, notably in Milan and Vicenza; engaging bank employees as volunteer event staff; implementing Olympic-themed branding across its headquarters, branches, and digital platforms; and strengthening its collaboration with Visa as the Preferred Issuing Bank Partner in Italy for the event.
Intesa Sanpaolo emphasized its broad support for sport as a vehicle for individual growth and social cohesion, stating that the core sporting values of loyalty, respect for rules, discipline, and merit align closely with the group’s corporate culture.
