A four-year-old Romanian boy died this morning at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital after being found unconscious in a sun-exposed vehicle during a family vacation in Sardinia. The child, whose parents were tourists staying in Olmedo, northwest Sardinia, had initially been hospitalized in intensive care at Santissima Annunziata Hospital in Sassari for severe heatstroke. According to the Carabinieri of Alghero, the incident occurred last Wednesday afternoon when the boy slipped outside while his parents rested. Upon discovering his absence, the parents located him unconscious inside their parked car under intense sunlight. He was later transferred to Rome for further treatment before succumbing to his condition.
