The Roma encampment on Via Selvanesco in Milan, home to the four minors who fatally struck 71-year-old Cecilia De Astis with a stolen car two days ago, has largely emptied. Numerous trailers previously stationed at the site have departed. Sources cite the overwhelming presence of media, excessive publicity, and intense chaos surrounding the camp as the reason for the exodus.
Law enforcement officials report that the four boys, aged between 11 and 13 and all born in Italy, briefly left the area but have since returned with their mothers. Due to being under the age of 14 and therefore not criminally responsible under Italian law, the minors are not subject to any restrictive measures and remain free to move without legal constraint.
