A 44-year-old Moroccan man has been arrested by Milan State Police under a European arrest warrant issued by Spanish authorities in June. He faces charges for a January 2022 murder in Chiclana de la Frontera, Spain, where biological evidence linked to him and a burnt vehicle were discovered near the victim’s body. The warrant also includes allegations of drug-trafficking-related homicide, property damage, and illegal weapons possession.
The investigation, initiated by Spain’s Liaison Officer and Italy’s Central Operational Service, culminated in the suspect’s capture in Milan’s Via Impastato—a known drug-dealing hotspot. Upon police arrival, the man attempted to flee and incited nearby addicts to obstruct officers using syringes before being subdued.
Despite resisting arrest, he was transported to Milan Police Headquarters, where the Mecenate Precinct executed the warrant. Following coordination with the International Police Cooperation Service’s operational unit, he was transferred to Milan’s “Francesco Di Cataldo” prison and placed at the disposal of the Court of Appeal for extradition.
This operation forms part of intensified anti-drug efforts in Milan’s Rogoredo woodland area, led by the Mobile Squad and Mecenate Precinct, as mandated by the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security.
