An emergency United Nations Security Council meeting concerning Israel’s proposed plan for control over Gaza has been postponed to Sunday at 10 AM New York time (4 PM Italian time), the UN headquarters announced. The meeting was initially scheduled for this afternoon (evening Italian time); the reason for the change remains unclear. Meanwhile, Palestinian medical sources cited by Al Jazeera report that at least seven Palestinians were killed and 34 others wounded in two separate Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) attacks in Gaza this morning. Among the victims were two people struck while awaiting humanitarian aid. The sources detailed that at least five civilians died and 33 were injured in an IDF strike targeting the northern area of the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza. In a separate incident near the Netzarim crossing south of Gaza City, Israeli forces opened fire on a group awaiting humanitarian aid, killing at least two more Palestinians and wounding another.
