A 50-year-old woman has been arrested and placed under house arrest with an electronic monitoring bracelet in Catania. She faces charges of aggravated sexual violence against her 15-year-old son, who has psychological disabilities.
The Catania District Prosecutor’s Office alleges the woman exploited her son’s mental vulnerability. From the time he was 13, she reportedly induced the teenager into sexual acts by sending him explicit audio messages, photos, and videos.
The investigation originated from a report by the care facility where the Juvenile Court had placed the boy. Specialists from the Catania Cyber Security Operations Center conducted the probe, utilizing forensic analysis of devices seized from both mother and son.
The victim, interviewed by prosecutors with psychological support, confirmed the evidence uncovered by technical examinations with profound embarrassment.
The court order also imposed a complete ban on the woman communicating with her son by any means. The arrest followed a pre-trial custody order issued by a preliminary investigations judge at the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office.
