Italian prosecutors have named four suspects in connection with a racially aggravated assault on July 27th at a highway rest stop in Lainate, near Milan. The altercation involved a group of individuals of Palestinian origin and a 52-year-old French citizen of Jewish faith who was wearing a kippah and accompanied by his six-year-old son. The French citizen, who initially brought the incident to light by partially filming it, is himself among those now formally under investigation. All suspects face potential charges, under various legal provisions, for battery and aggravated bodily harm motivated by racial hatred. The French citizen was subsequently reported to authorities by the other party involved.
