Alcohol Bottles Seized at Bagheria Villa Following Fatal Party Death

Prosecutors in Termini Imerese have seized bottles of alcohol from the Bagheria villa where a party took place prior to the death of 20-year-old Simona Cinà. The seizure was announced as authorities provided an update on the investigation into the young woman’s death.

The magistrates stated that all youths questioned “as persons informed on the facts have behaved cooperatively.” The victim’s clothing, confirmed by the prosecutor’s office, was also seized by Carabinieri.

Radiological tests on Cinà’s body will be performed Wednesday evening, followed by an autopsy Thursday at the forensic medicine institute of Palermo’s Polyclinic hospital. The Termini Imerese Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into the incident.

Prosecutors urgently appealed “that no further untruthful information be disseminated regarding the death of the young woman,” stressing the need to focus resources solely on ascertaining the exact facts for the family. They extended their “deepest and most heartfelt condolences” to the relatives.

Simona Cinà’s body was “found by some of the last remaining partygoers around 4 a.m.” at the bottom of the pool. The prosecutor’s office specified she was “lifeless in a distant, dimly lit corner of the pool, away from the area housing the bar, music console, and restrooms.”

According to a preliminary reconstruction, “at least two young men immediately dived into the pool, retrieved the body,” and “performed life-saving resuscitation maneuvers while awaiting emergency services.” When medical personnel arrived at the Bagheria villa, they attempted resuscitation “unfortunately in vain, and could only confirm her death at 5 a.m.”

The Prosecutor’s Office forcefully denied as “absolutely unfounded” reports claiming an absence of party evidence (bottles, glasses, plates, etc.) near the pool. Magistrates clarified that “glasses and bottles of alcohol were found, among other items, particularly near the bar counter, as duly documented,” corroborating participants’ accounts from the outset.

This material, along with “every other object present at the scene useful for investigative purposes,” has been seized. “At this stage, therefore,” stated the Prosecutor’s Office, “there are no grounds to suspect that anyone altered the scene or removed objects. This aspect will, in any case, be subject to further investigation.”
