A 71-year-old man was injured in a single-vehicle traffic accident that occurred around 8 a.m. on the Tuscanese Provincial Road (Sp Tuscanese) near Viterbo.
Preliminary reports indicate the man, who was traveling alone in a small SUV, lost control of the vehicle for reasons still under investigation. The vehicle skidded and subsequently came to rest on its side.
Firefighters from Viterbo responded to the scene, extracted the man from the car, and turned him over to emergency medical personnel. He was transported to Santa Rosa Hospital in Viterbo. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The incident caused road closures for approximately one hour. Once rescue operations were completed, traffic flow returned to normal.
