Former President Donald Trump unleashed a scathing critique against Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on Thursday, just one day after the Fed opted to hold interest rates steady. Trump, posting on his Truth Social platform, branded Powell “Jerome ‘Too Late’ Powell” and declared: “He has done it again!!! He is too late, truly too stupid, and far too political to hold the position of Fed Chair. This is costing our Country TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS.”
Trump further targeted the costs of the Federal Reserve headquarters renovation in Washington, which he labeled “one of the most incompetent, or corrupt, construction projects in the history of building!” He reiterated his disparaging nickname for Powell, stating: “Put another way – ‘Too Late’ is a total loser, and our Country is paying the price!”
