The Monza Prosecutor’s Office has issued a detention order for a 30-year-old Peruvian man suspected of voluntary homicide and stalking in the killing of his 34-year-old ex-wife, Geraldine Yadana Sanchez. The murder occurred overnight in Macherio (Monza), as confirmed to ANSA by Monza Chief Prosecutor Claudio Gittardi.
Sanchez’s body was discovered around midnight in a disused area near her Macherio residence, bearing signs of strangulation. The victim had previously fled Peru with the couple’s two children, aged 14 and 17, to escape the suspect. Carabinieri took the ex-partner into custody for questioning after the children alerted authorities when their mother failed to return home.
