Local police in Naples have shuttered a pizzeria after uncovering forged permits and unauthorized occupation of municipal property. Officers from the Building Heritage Protection and Scampia units launched an investigation three months ago into the establishment located between Piscinola and Scampia.
During an initial inspection, the pizzeria’s legal representative presented documents purportedly authorizing use of the city-owned premises. Subsequent verification revealed the permits were counterfeit. Authorities further discovered the business had illegally expanded by encroaching on a pedestrian walkway.
The premises have been sealed, and the legal representative faces criminal charges for unauthorized occupation of public property, document forgery, and building code violations. Administrative seizure was imposed on the pizzeria, while the adjacent pedestrian area underwent criminal seizure.
