A visibly agitated man assaulted emergency room personnel at the “Nicola Giannettasio” Hospital in Corigliano-Rossano on July 31 after hurling objects at staff. Local police intervened to prevent further escalation.
The assailant was restrained and remains under observation in the ER. Preliminary reports indicate he became violent after demanding additional medical tests in the emergency department following a specialist consultation elsewhere.
Attacked medical staff sustained minor injuries and received treatment onsite.
