Jerusalem Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa stated that the reasons behind the ongoing conflict remain unclear and unjustifiable, echoing Pope Francis’s position. In an interview with Vatican media, the Cardinal clarified: “We have nothing against the Jewish world and absolutely do not wish to appear as opponents of Israeli society or Judaism. However, we have a moral duty to express our criticism of this Israeli government’s policy in Gaza with absolute clarity and frankness.”
