Inflatable Craze Takes Over: From Indoor Pools to Dino Floats for Hot Summer 2025

The scorching summer of 2025 is being defined by an explosive inflatable trend dominating social media and e-commerce. Topping the list are pop-up mini-pools filling home interiors – despite structural safety warnings – driven viral by TikTok. The phenomenon, originating from the UK and US and now captivating Italians, targets not children but heat-struck adults confined to cities. Students and young people are transforming balconies, terraces, living rooms, bathrooms, and kitchens with pools featuring headrests, armrests, and cocktail cup holders. Influencers urge partial filling to avoid overloading floors, but the trend surges regardless.

Pet products are also booming, featuring dog pools with entry ramps, scratch-proof designs, and anti-fur filters (safe for babies too), plus floating “shields” to keep dogs cool in pools or the sea instead of on hot sand.

Oversized inflatables reign supreme, from XXL mats and chairs to double-sized floating “VIP-lounge beds.” Luxury novelties in US social trends include inflatable boats, from small dinghies to two-deck yachts accommodating up to ten people.

For beach flair, “romantic” floats are trending: giant blooming red roses and hearts, often personalized with “be mine.” Sculptural inflatables, sold even in museum gift shops, include pop-art skull mats, heart-shaped rings, and figures depicting Niki de Saint Phalle’s artworks to replace classic garden gnomes (now sporting swimwear).

Infant innovations involve sand-pits: dig a hole, line it with a colorful waterproof sheet, and fill with water. For children, classic duck rings persist, but Jurassic-themed floats – brontosauruses and tyrannosauruses – are now the darlings of young dinosaur fans.
