Giusy Lucente, a 41-year-old woman from Sammichele di Bari, died on Wednesday evening after being struck by a vehicle while rendering aid at an accident scene on Bari’s ring road. Lucente and her husband—both avid motorcyclists—had stopped their compact car to help a young female motorcyclist who fell after colliding with another vehicle. As they assisted the injured rider, a high-powered car driven by an 80-year-old man plowed into the group. The impact killed Lucente instantly. Authorities have launched an investigation into the chain-reaction collision.
