New details have emerged in the overnight murder of a 47-year-old Romanian man in Fabrica di Roma (Viterbo province). The victim, described as well-known and well-liked locally, reportedly died following a brutal assault by his brother-in-law.
The alleged attacker, also Romanian and with a significant criminal record, was already under electronic monitoring (bracelet) for prior offenses. Authorities do not exclude that this monitoring stemmed from past accusations of stalking made by the victim’s sister – a detail potentially linked to the motive.
According to witness accounts, the fatal argument erupted in one of the men’s apartments above the street where the victim was later found. The assault involved punches, kicks, and allegedly a broken bottle, which investigators believe inflicted the fatal blow.
After the attack, the injured man reportedly called his wife, pleading for help to reach the hospital. However, when she arrived, she found him dying in the street. Despite resuscitation efforts by emergency responders (118), he succumbed minutes later.
Carabinieri from the local station, coordinated by the Viterbo provincial command, are conducting a full-scale investigation into the incident.
