€36.5 Million Assets Seized from ‘Socially Dangerous’ Businesswoman in Emilia-Romagna

The Bologna Finance Police (Guardia di Finanza – GDF) have seized assets worth over €36.5 million from a 69-year-old businesswoman based in Reggio Emilia. Originally from the Modena area, she is deemed “socially dangerous” and has definitive prior convictions for multiple financial crimes.

Prosecutors allege she established a network of companies, formally registered to nominees but actually controlled by her and her two sons. This structure was used to obtain bank loans, including state-guaranteed ones, which were then diverted for personal and family expenses instead.

The assets confiscated by the “Yellow Flames” (Fiamme Gialle) include 38 properties (buildings and land) across Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy, and Veneto; 5 vehicles (Porsche, Audi, Range Rover); 94 bank accounts; 12 corporate holdings; over €147,000 in cash; 19 luxury watches (Patek Philippe, Rolex, Omega, Cartier); and other valuables.

The seizure order, issued by the Bologna Court – Prevention Measures Section, resulted from an investigation coordinated by the Reggio Emilia Prosecutor’s Office. The probe was conducted by the Bologna Economic and Financial Police Unit (Nucleo di Polizia Economico-Finanziaria), supported by 14 other provincial GDF commands. According to a GDF statement, the seizure was executed under Italy’s Anti-Mafia Code due to the glaring disproportion between the woman’s declared income and the substantial wealth she accumulated.
