Asian Markets Mixed After Fed, BoJ Hold Rates; US Tariff Talks in Focus

Asian stock markets closed with mixed results following rate-holding decisions by the U.S. Federal Reserve and the Bank of Japan. Tokyo’s benchmark index rose 1.02%, while ongoing trading saw declines in Hong Kong (-1.5%), Shanghai (-1.2%), Shenzhen (-1.3%), Seoul (-0.3%), and Mumbai (-0.2%). The yen traded at 148.92 against the dollar and 170.49 versus the euro.

Market attention remains fixed on negotiations over U.S.-imposed tariffs. Upcoming macroeconomic releases include inflation data from France, Italy, and Germany, alongside U.S. unemployment benefit figures.
