All Sicilian provinces are experiencing temperatures above 30°C, with thermometers surpassing 35°C—particularly in the southeast. At 9:26 a.m., Sicily’s agrometeorological service recorded highs of 38.5°C in Francofonte (Siracusa), 38.2°C in Paternò (Catania), and 38°C in Motta Sant’Anastasia (Catania). While Catania registered approximately 33°C, the nearby Sigonella air base on the SP 104 highway hit 38.9°C. Palermo reached 32°C, though humidity intensified the perceived heat; Partinico (Palermo) saw 37.2°C. Temperatures continue to rise across the island.
