These details emerge from the investigation that ended the manhunt for Cavallari. The Modena native, convicted for his role in the “spray band” responsible for the Lanterna Azzurra nightclub massacre in Corinaldo (Ancona), escaped on July 3rd in Bologna. He was apprehended while leaving the hotel, likely headed to the beach or for a walk, though he reportedly planned to return.
After his escape, Cavallari is believed to have traveled by car, likely passing through France before reaching Spain. He was traced to Barcelona, surrounding areas, and finally the tourist resort of Lloret de Mar. Investigators pinpointed his location the day before the arrest but delayed moving in to avoid tipping him off. Subsequent hotel payments confirmed his stable presence, triggering the operation. Surveillance images captured Cavallari in short sleeves, a visor cap, and holding a phone.
