CISL leader Daniela Fumarola has urged Italy’s government, trade unions, and business sector to forge a sweeping “Responsibility Pact” aimed at achieving shared goals. Launching the union’s national congress under the slogan “The Courage of Participation,” the General Secretary declared: “We must invest in a grand agreement for growth and social cohesion, uniting reformist and responsible forces. It’s time to overcome longstanding issues, enact reforms delayed for decades, and address urgent challenges in this era of epochal shifts. Let us act for our future and our children’s future.”
Fumarola emphasized work, contracts, and wages as critical priorities, stressing workplace safety as foundational: “A conscious National Agreement for Labor must anchor Italy’s 2025 agenda. At its core lies the most pressing issue: workers’ safety and health. This is the defining battle—one where no one can stand aside or waste time on partisan disputes.”
