A domestic violence incident nearly turned fatal overnight in the Santa Lucia district of Cava de’ Tirreni (Salerno). A 40-year-old man seriously wounded his 35-year-old wife before attempting to take his own life.
According to the initial police investigation conducted by officers from the local station, the man allegedly stabbed his wife seven times while she was asleep. He subsequently attempted suicide. Both individuals are hospitalized at separate facilities. The 35-year-old woman is reported in critical but stable condition, not facing imminent life-threatening danger. The man is currently under arrest.
